Garage Entryway Makeover: Reveal

I hadn't planned this project at all, it was just one of those spur of the moment projects that you add to your already overfull plate for no apparent reason. I have had this little wall hanging thing [technical term there!] for several years and while it is super adorable, it isn't strong enough to hold my  heavy purse and kept coming out of the wall, plus, it seemed a little small for the space and I was picturing something more substantial, like the front entryway. You get where I'm going with this right?

We stopped at Lowes and picked up an 8x4 sheet of bead board. We had the nice gentleman cut it in half for us so we could get it home #jeepproblems! Once we got home we cut it to fit the wall.

Marked the studs.

Nailed it into the studs

Nailed a piece of 1x4 primed MDF to the top

Filled, caulked and sanded all the holes and imperfections.

Two coats of my go-to paint, Valspar Ocean Storm

Added 3 hooks [from Lowes],

and some cute art from Dwella Mahoney [previously in the front entry] to finish it off.

Any cute, quick projects you've been doing lately that had big impact?
