style through the years

In my last post I talked about all the styles Ive had in the past so I thought Id show some photos of my style the past 6 years. Enjoy! Some are cringworthy!

I have changed my decor style so many time. My first apartment [after I got married] was styled in black and red, then I decided I loved navy and yellow, then coastal style, then nautical, then industrial and currently farmhouse. Whew. Thats a lot when I actually write it down. I think its only natural to change your mind, luckily Ive gotten smarter and learned that if you used neutrals for your larger pieces [rug, sofa, drapes] that its easy [and much more affordable] to change out accessories for a whole new look. Right now, I am loving the boho, aztec, and moroccan vibes, and since I need to redo my master soon anyway I might just make some adjustments to my plans and change up some accessories throughout the house. These are my ideas right now.

It might seem like I have a ton to buy but actually I have most of the large pieces already and even some of the accessories can be re-worked. Pretty much the only things I would need to purchase are the pillow covers and the blankets. Knowing me this will probably change in a month but right now this is whats going through my head.

After Christmas update

I was so excited to start decorating for Christmas, I even decorated EARLY this year, but by the time Christmas actually rolled around I was done. I was ready to get rid of the tree and the greenery and the RED, oh the red. One thing you should know about me is, I HATE red. HATE it with a passion. It is my least favorite color ever and even though I only used a tiny bit for the holidays it was driving me nuts. So, point of the story is the day after Christmas i took everything down and put up my usual rustic/farmhouse stuff and I feel so much better. I'm not sure how long we will be in this home, things aren't exactly working out the way we had hoped and Zack and I are thinking maybe we need a huge change. We aren't quite sure what that means right now but we are craving financial freedom and the chance to someday own our own home and right now that isn't happening and so we'll see how long all this lasts but for now this is how the house looks. Hope you like it!
